On 26th October Rotary Club Estoi Palace International celebrated 10 years of service to the community with a splendid evening at Restaurante Quinta da Senhora Menina, Faro attended by over a hundred guests.
Club president Bruno Sousa Costa presented 10 of our most significant achievements over the last 10 years including the donation of a mobile breast screening unit to the Algarve Oncology Association, a fully equipped ambulance to the bombeiros of São Bras, and over 50,000 litres of milk for local families.
Entertainment was provided by Ricardo J Martins, a multi instrumentalist musician specializing in the classical Portuguese guitar, and vocalist Cristina Paulo who lives and works locally, but has studied music at the Berkley College of Music in Boston.
A raffle was held to promote World Polio Day which was celebrated worldwide on the 24th October. Thanks to the generosity of our guests we raised over 600 euros which will be used to help eradicate polio.
